I loved this whole series, and this last book didn't disappoint. I shed tears, I felt betrayed, it actually kept me intrigued. What a twist in the end! And Beka is an awesome character. And it was nice to see the other side, the real side, of Tortall and it's city people. Cameo's by ancesters od future characters was eye opening. It showed so many changes and yet at the same time none between the centuries of Beka and Alanna, Daine & Kel. Best part is I WILL be reading thie series again :)

"Kept me guessing, but predictable in the right places"

The story was initially very gripping, so the following couple of chapters seemed a little lacking in action by comparison.

But further on the intensity and interest returned and I found myself reading until the wee small hours. Couldn't put it down :)

The story has its share of gritty, true-to-life tragedy, but the diary format gives us the opportunity to see a character process tragedy over time, and grow through it. Beka Cooper is a worthy heroine for an older teen or young adult.

Description

The final book in the Beka Cooper trilogy, and the Hunt is on! Three years have passed since Beka Cooper almost died in the sewers of Port Caynn. Now her life takes an unexpected turn when her fiance is killed on a slave raid.

Then Lord Gershom himself appears at her door and in the span of hours Beka is plunged into a case that threatens the future of the Tortallan royal family and therefore the Tortallan government itself. This Hunt will take Beka to places she's never been and challenge her tracking skills beyond the city walls, as well as her ability to judge exactly who she can trust with her life and her country's future.

The Beka Cooper Trilogy is set in the same world as the Song of the Lioness and The Immortals series.
