Midnight Express
In this harrowing true-life adventure, young American Billy Hayes (Brad Davis) is arrested in Turkey after he's caught smuggling hashish. Taken to a brutal Turkish jail where the prisoners must fend for themselves, he meets many other inmates, including an American (Randy Quaid), an Englishman (John Hurt), and a Scandinavian (Norbert Weisser).
