Moki 45 degree Comfort Buds.
- Disclaimer: I recently bought and tested 5 different pairs of headphones which were under the price range of NZ$20 at time of purchase. In all I have reviewed Moki 45 degree Comfort Buds, Xiaomi (“Mi”) Basic in-ear headphones, ifrogz Luxe microbuds (with microphone), Philips “Vibes” in-ear headphones and finally Skullcandy Jib headphones. Note that these were tested with music only; if a set of headphones had a microphone I did not test the quality of the mic.
- Packed in simple cardboard and plastic no frills packaging – the type designed to hang on a hook in a department store.
- Doesn’t come with a manual or other materials (most of these cheaper headphones don’t).
- Comes with the headphones and medium sized bud tips as default, as well as 2 pairs of alternatively sized earbud tips (small and large).
- Uses a flat-style cable to combat tangles.
- Uses a straight 3.5mm plug/jack (not L-shaped).
- The headphones are made of glossy plastic.
- Noise cancelling – not great. For me at least the ear bud tips didn’t do a good job of sealing my ears, and therefore I could still hear most of the noise around me pretty clearly.
- Sound quality – As mentioned above the ear bud tips didn’t create a good seal, and so if these headphones have any decent bass at all I was never going to hear it. I did, however, try a better set of earbud tips from another product and I still couldn’t hear any decent bass from these headphones. The highs and mids are just “okay”.
- Verdict: I wouldn’t bother with these except as a cheap pair of headphones for listening to audio books. I wouldn’t recommend them for music.
