"Very, very hard to watch"
2 stars"

So I'm usually into these kinds of movies, but this one has got to be amongst the worst I've ever seen, and I've seen some pretty bad ones. Poorly written, with little to no continuity, I only watched it to the end so that I could adequately describe how bad it was. Even the monsters were badly designed with anatomy that made no sense whatsoever, so made them utterly unbelievable. The ending was, well not an ending at all, an obvious and blatent set up for a second movie, which I wouldn't watch if someone paid me to, let alone buy it.

When Lt. Artemis and her loyal soldiers are transported to a new world, they engage in a desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers. Feature film based on the video game by Capcom.

Critic Reviews:

  • " A very good movie on its own terms. Which are maybe not the same terms as other movies. " – Tim Brayton (Alternate Ending)
  • " There's an element of skill, design, and creativity to make a monster movie of this size work, and Monster Hunter delivers everything you want from a movie called Monster Hunter. " – Leo Brady (
  • " What does merit taking seriously is the screen presence of Jovovich – an action icon easily up there with Keanu Reeves, in some respects her male equivalent. " – Jake Wilson (The Age, Australia)
