Author Biography:

FRANCIS KATAMBA is Professor of Linguistics at the University of Lancaster, UK. His books include An Introduction to Phonology (Longman, 1989), English Words (Routledge, 1994) and Contemporary Linguistics: An Introduction 3e (with William O'Grady and Michael Dobrovolsky, Pearson). JOHN STONHAM is Reader in Linguistics at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. His publications include Linguistic Theory and Complex Words (Palgrave Macmillan, 2003) and Combinatorial Morphology (Benjamins, 1994).
