Author Biography:

Chris Riddell is a renowned and prolific writer and illustrator. His work includes the Goth Girl series, the Ottoline series and the picture books The Emperor of Absurdia and Alienography. The first Goth Girl novel won the Costa Children's Book Award in 2013. He has won the prestigious CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal three times. Riddell and Michael Rosen also won the 2016 CLiPPA award for A Great Big Cuddlein 2016. In addition to his children's books, Chris is a renowned political cartoonist whose work appears in The Observer, The Literary Review and The New Statesman. Chris has recently become an Ambassador for Amnesty International UK. Amnesty International is the world's largest human right's organisation, with over 8 million supporters worldwide. They work to protect men, women and children wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied. They investigate and expose abuses, educate and mobilise the public, and help transform societies to create a safer, more just world.
