BART MADDEN retired in 2003 as a managing director of Credit Suisse HOLT after a career in investment research and money management that included the founding of Callard Madden & Associates. He has published journal articles and books across a variety of disciplines (see http: //LearningWhatWorks.com). His book Free to Choose Medicine: Better Drugs Sooner at Lower Cost is a practical proposal to facilitate early, informed access to new drugs, and its principles are reflected in the Promising Pathway Act recently introduced with bipartisan support in the U.S. Senate and House. His 2020 book Value Creation Principles, which John Seely Brown called "astounding . . . given its deep and timely insights for our world today," is the foundation for the Certificate in Value Creation online course being promoted worldwide by the Madden Center for Value Creation at Florida Atlantic University.
