Bruce Eldine Morton was born Southern California in 1938. After Completing the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin, he spent post-doctoral periods as a Research Fellow at Wisconsin's Institute for Enzyme Research, M.I.T., and Harvard Medical School. He was hired by the School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii, 1969 where he directed a neuroscience research laboratory long after his "retirement" in 1995. In 1974 Dr. Morton set a world record for distance flown in a hang gilder. He was also active in Gymnastics, SCUBA diving, Wind surfing, Snow boarding, and now Dual Purpose Motorcycle tours of Mayan ruins. Dr. Morton has been a member of many choral societies and was in concert with the Boston Symphony. He also spent sabbaticals at USC, Stanford, and at the University of Michigan. He is a member numerous professional societies including the International Society for Research on Aggression.
