This book covers Colonial Higher Courts, District Superior Courts, North Carolina Supreme Court, Treasurer and Comptroller Papers and State Auditors Papers. Compiled from the loose-leaf registers in the NC State Archives entitled State Agency Finding Aids, the card catalog in the same room, and the card Catalogue of microfilm publications. Much of the book is a description of the records themselves, so that one knows what is available under each type of record, E.G. for which terms of General Court there are extant records in, say Feb, 1693. Although this book is primarily a catalog of the archival holdings named in the book title, within these pages are also the complete names of roughly 1,800 individuals for whom specific records are identified.
