This was such a joy to read! It did take me a while to get into it, but once I was, I just had to know what was going to happen to August & Jane. The slow burn in their romance just built anticipation – was the making out for “research purposes” going to become genuine? However, my favourite part of this story was the found family, not just for August but for Jane as well. I loved that no matter the family life this diverse bunch of queer people had, supportive or not, they had found and built a family around people that loved & accepted them for who they were. I really liked seeing this through Jane – seeing what she and her friends fought for in the past, and how times had changed. The ways that they accepted and supported each other brought a tear to my eye. This was such a warm hug of a book & I’m glad to have read it.
