Author Biography

Odom Fanning is a veteran science writer and accredited Washington correspondent who h as won numerous awards for his environmental and medical writing. Currently retired, some of the prestigious positions he held were first information officer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; research information director for the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and CBS Broadcast Laboratories in New York. In Washington DC he managed national programs in environmental health, occupational health and safety, and energy conservation. He was awarded the Citation of Merit for Outstanding Service to Environmental Education from the North American Association for Environmental Education.
