Outlaw
Returning veteran Sgt. Daniel Bryant (Sean Bean) finds himself trapped in a world of urban violence every bit as dangerous as the front lines he was lucky to leave behind. At his wit's end with rampant crime, Bryant recruits a group of men wronged by local thugs – including newly widowed lawyer Cedric Munroe (Lennie James). With the off-the-record approval of veteran police officer Walter Lewis (Bob Hoskins), Bryant's vigilante task force engages in a bloody struggle to take back the streets.
Critic Reviews:
- " Both the pic's power and its problems stem from Love deliberately taking no moral position nor offering any solutions; he gives his audience what it wants at a gut level and doesn't wimp out at the end. " – Derek Elley
- " The actors are all too good for this kind of stuff, but they do the business, while Sam McCurdy's sharp cinematography and Stuart Gazzard's slick editing keep it all moving swiftly. " – Hollywood Reporter
- " Racho-macho vigilante action with a cockney accent, Outlaw is made to seem more important than it really is by the presence of Sean Bean and Bob Hoskins in key roles " – ***Urban Cinefile Critics*
