Description

The U.S. - Mexico border crossing has become an area of study in its own right. However, very few of the current books focus on language and linguistic factors such as this one. Perspectives on Teaching English at the U.S. - Mexico Border adds knowledge, understanding, and insight not only to the field of TESOL, but to other fields as well. Dr. UrzĂșa notes: "Much can be learned from exploring English language teaching at institutions of higher education located in the borderlands, especially in terms of understanding the effects of national and regional educational policies on both sides of the border, the impact of such policies on English language learners, and how issues associated with transnationalism may affect English language teaching.

Author Biography:

He has worked as a second language teacher educator, researcher, and language program coordinator in Mexico and the United States. He is currently Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics at San Diego State University.
