The cover of this stunning journal reproduced the famous Unicorn in Captivity tapestry. The tapestry is part of the collection of New York City's Metropolitan Museum's Cloisters. According to the Museum, the unicorn represents the beloved tamed. It is captive but is able to free itself at any time. The red on its coat is not blood but rather pomegranate juice. The pomegranate represents marriage and fertility; so do many of the plants depicted, as well as the tiny frog at the lower right corner.
