I really enjoyed this game, even though the game isnt as long as it shouldve been, it was still brilliant. Great combat, graphics and story line. I definitely recommend this game!

He's been fired from Community.

“I'm not saying you can't make a good version of Community without me, but I am definitely saying that you can't make my version of it unless I have the option of saying "it has to be like this or I quit” roughly 8 times a day. The same contract also gives me the same salary and title if I spend all day masturbating and playing Prototype 2. And before you ask yourself what you would do in my situation: buy Prototype 2. It's fucking great. "

"A fun action game with some flaws"
4 stars"

Review by Gabi on 14th May, 2013

The gameplay of Prototype 2 can best be described as a mix between Spiderman and X-Men. As you progress through the game, the protagonist of the story, Sgt. James Heller gains more and more abilities which can be upgraded. These abilities can let him glide between buildings, jump and grab helicopters to even calling upon a brawler pack. There are a few collectables in the game such as lairs, field op teams and blackboxes which are all really easy to find.

The game itself poses no real difficulties even on Hard and the story is quite short (5–6 hours). There are optional side missions which are 10–15 minutes each. Although being a short game, Prototype 2 is highly enjoyable especially once you are acquainted with the abilities and controls. 7/10.

"RAGING!"
5 stars"

Review by Benjamin on 8th November, 2012

This game is very fun, building upon the first it is a bit more dynamic and alot more destructive you're even rewarded with mutations (Which make you extremely powerful) which can be used to lead an army on a merry old chase or wipeout a base in one devasting move. If you've had a bad day this game is awesome.

"Just like the first one in a good way"

Review by Daniel on 19th October, 2012

After playing this game I realized that it is just the same as the first one except the graphics are 20× better and just the overall game play is better.

This is a must buy

Description

The sequel to Radical Entertainment’s best-selling open-world game of 2009, PROTOTYPE 2 takes the unsurpassed carnage of the original PROTOTYPE and continues the experience of becoming the ultimate shape-shifting weapon.

14 months have passed since New York became a disease-ridden war zone, and the man responsible for it all – Alex Mercer – has become a ghost, a bogeyman whose shadow looms over the city. You are Sgt. James Heller – veteran soldier whose life was destroyed by Mercer’s release of the Blacklight virus…Welcome to NYZ…it’s time to murder your maker!

Features:

  • IT’S HELLER VS. MERCER! – Alex Mercer made a grave mistake when he decided to infect Sgt. James Heller with the Blacklight virus – he never counted on Heller interfering with his plans.
  • SHAPE-SHIFTING EVOLVED – Players will love experimenting with Heller’s newfound powers and abilities as they tear through NYZ, battling and evading elite military soldiers and vehicles on the ground and in the air, and hunting down and consuming key targets to obtain information and dive even deeper into the game’s story. Juggling between multiple shape-shifting weapons on the fly, like the all-new trauma-inducing Tendrils, the razor sharp Claws or Blade Arm, and blunt and devastating Hammer and Whip Fists (to name a few), players will wreak havoc on their victims and the hordes of Infected abominations roaming the city streets in a visceral celebration of blood, guts and dismemberment.
  • WELCOME TO NYZ! – The New York that humanity has come to know and love over the years no longer exists…it’s now simply referred to as NYZ. As Radical’s all-new vision for post-viral open-world New York, NYZ has been re-designed from the ground up to enhance PROTOTYPE 2’s signature action-packed sandbox-style gameplay, and as a mechanism to tell the game’s core narrative and side story missions. As Heller, players will progress through NYZ’s three distinct zones, from the heavily guarded militarized Green Zone, to the converted refugee and triage shanty town camps of the industrial Yellow Zone, all the way to the Red Zone – where the virus has completely overrun the city’s shattered skyscrapers and population with infection and the risk of death at every corner.
  • MAKE HELLER YOUR PROTOTYPE – In PROTOTYPE 2 players can unlock new viral abilities, upgrade, and create unique power sets for Heller throughout the game’s main and side story missions.

Review by Gamespot
“…Prototype 2 is a safe sequel…but small tweaks make it more accessible than the original game. Most importantly, it's an unabashedly fun adventure that doesn't have any doubt about what it wants to be. This is a game about killing enemies in an open-world environment, and little stands in the way to hinder your enjoyment. Mindless violence is is all the rage in Prototype 2, which makes for a stupid yet entertaining experience.” 7.5/10
