The frame is curved so it doesn't sit flat on the wall and bounces around when used. This is not a cork board – it's a sheet of regular cardboard with a thin layer (about 1mm) of cork glued on top, just of aesthetic purposes. As a result pins don't hold very well.
For an item which is pretty cheap this is worth a buy. Easy to hang and of high quality
I'm using the cork board laid flat on a table so I can lay out a plan of a 1949 rubber powered balsa model and pin balsa strips to it. Perfect.
