Description

Raymond General Jones 'The General' has a Narcissistic Personality Disorder and lives in a world of grandiose delusions. He is married to Fran, his doting wife of 25 years who has been indoctrinated into believing his fantasies of exceptional business acumen and magnetism. 'The General' schmoozes his way through life, selling superficial ideas and boosting people's ego whilst acting as a consultant for 'hopefuls' and starting their businesses regardless of their ability for success. The General creates a world around himself where others are swept up by his projection of himself as the ideal man. Most fall under his spell. . . The General The Professor and the Maestro is a story of the development of a Narcissistic Personality Disorder and the impact this disorder with everyone he encounters. This is the second of six novels about individuals with personality disorders. The story follows the main character capturing the personal experience of disordered interpretations within each relationship he encounters. It further captures the impact The General has on everyone around him. The story tracks back to early childhood and we come to see the early disruptions in attachment and his need to perform to stay emotionally safe while hiding his true self out of view of others. Each book in the series 'Curious Minds' also has a 'fly on the wall' look at what happens inside the therapy room, and how the therapist engages with each patient as he works with in his own unique way, challenging and illuminating the truth in pursuit of liberation from a tormenting life.
