Richard Scarry was unquestionably one of the most-lovedchildren's authors of all time. He wrote more than 250 bookswhich have gone on to sell more than 150 million copiesglobally that have been translated into dozens of languages.Mr. Scarry, who was born in Boston and moved to Switzerlandin 1968, once wrote: 'It's a precious thing to becommunicating to children, helping them discover the giftof language and thought.
