This is the story of Jonah Krause's first tour to Iraq. He describes the experiences he and his Rogue Platoon went through from the moment he got the call to duty, to the perils they faced, and describes in saddening detail the troubles he and his soldiers faced after their bitter deployment to Iraq protecting critical assets throughout Iraq. He injects the difficult decisions he had to make as a father who had to leave his young son and wife to be for well over a year.

Author Biography:

Jonah Krause is a retired Major with 5 tours to Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. During his service he was the recipient of 3 Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, 2 Joint Service Commendation Medals, and 6 Army Commendation Medals among other achievements. He additionally earned both the Combat Action Badge and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. He has served in positions that include Tactical Intelligence Officer for 1-635 Armor Battalion, Security Force Platoon Leader for 731st Security Force, Senior Intelligence Officer for the Joint Intelligence Task Force Combatting Terrorism, Operations Intelligence Officer for 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Foreign Disclosure Officer for Joint Special Operations Command, and Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence at the 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command. Jonah Krause holds a Bachelors Degree in Business and a Masters Degree in Intelligence Analysis. He lives in Des Moines, Iowa, with his wife and Children.
