This is a MR.Robert's type story in the fact that is life on board a Navy ship. Two different things are the first it is not W.W.II it is the Vietnam War. The turbulent sixty's and the protests are only briefly mentioned. The main part of this book is a story about a Paul Hammerlock and his experiences in the Navy. For thew most part it is based on the author's own experiences with a few embellishments. It is a great trip through the ports Paul visits with descriptions of same. There is interplay between Paul and his shipmates as well.
