Human Resources dynamo Dimity Rush (the brilliant Danielle Cormack) is in a hurry to reinvent herself, to ditch her old friends, and to drag her family into the innercity where her sexy new life can begin.Gentrifying Ponsonby – the holy grail of Auckland real estate – becomes the battleground as Dimity grabs a pricey done-up villa, then the neighbouring dump to “do-up and flick-on” for a tidy profit. But her neighbour, failed social worker Arthur Short (Patrick Wilson) had rented next door for twenty years, with his wayward teenage daughters Amber and Constance (Rose Mclver, star of Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones”). When his ex-streetkid wife abandons him for a woman, Arthur’s sleazy mate Ralph moves into prop him up, and Arthur’s problems really begin.

Over the course of a heated summer, old Ponsonby fights new, as Dimity and Arthur go head-to-head for the future of their families and livelihoods.
