"Good solid hit-up!"

I've thrashed the living daylights out of the previous incarnations of Rugby League and have been awaiting this games arrival with baited breath. And thankfully Rugby League 3 is a solid addition to the ranks. The Wii isn't the most powerful machine on the planet so don't expect PS3 style graphics, although they are a step up from RL2. There's a bloom/blur effect going on that some people may find annoying, and a few recycled animations from the previous edition, but really, the focus for any sports game should be gameplay. And in my opinion this game (mostly) delivers. I thought I'd give the wii-mote/nunchuck combo a try before moving to the GC Controller, expecting the usual inaccurate waggle fest. To my surprise I'm still using it – it takes a little while to get the hang of passing, and some people may dislike the lack of accuracy compared to previous games, but I feel it mirrors the tension and human error you get at any decent game of footy. There's a new selection of tactical set-ups on defense and attack that add new levels of depth. Implementing them can be difficult sometimes due to the games pace and speed of the play-the-ball. Movement on the field seems a great deal smoother, and new features like contesting the high ball and sin-binning are a welcome addition. The franchise modes are solid and deep, although I question why the Toyota Cup was included when you can't promote players from it into your main NRL franchise. The team and player creation tools are also very basic, and the rosters are from the 2009 seasons (I'm sure some dedicated fan will soon rectify this). But these are small issues, and overall I'm having a blast playing this game. There's no online, but you can have up to 8 people playing in the same room – that's over half a team! Rugby Leeeeeeeeeague!!!

"A League Of There Own"

For all the rugby league fanatics out their, this game is a must have. Although the graphics are not as polished as most games on a Xbox360 or PS3, the overall gameplay is generally ok. For the most part the rosters are up to date and stats of each player are very fair ( apart from G.I who should be no less then 99 ). You can play useing either the standard Wii control or the one provided with this combo deal. Controls are very easy to use and are alot of fun. Franchise mode is great if your like me and wanting to get as much superstars on the Warriors team as possible. The depth is good and the salary cap, yes the salary cap, is in the game and you cannot cheat it. Overall, very enjoyable game that kids and adults can play. Here's hopeing future NRL games are available on PS3.

I was some what disjointedness in this game mainly because of the controls why they didst design it for the wii classic controller i have no idea this game would have been 100× better on the ps3 or xbox the motion control passing its OK but its more of a gimmick an accuracy is poor the free controller where does this even plug in or does it need an adapter?
