Description

Racing model cars is a fascinating hobby that provides excitement for young and old alike. The name Scalextric is now so well established that it has become a generic term for electric slot-car systems. This completely revised edition of Haynes' best-selling book, first published in 1981, appeals to a broad audience, whilst offering the level of detail and comprehensive data demanded by the aficionado. A complete guide to models that have been marketed under the brand name of Scalextric since their introduction in 1957, it brings the story right up to date and includes details and illustrations of 2004 models.

Table of Contents

Completely revised edition detailing the evolution of Scalextric products, with appendices providing comprehensive details of cars, sets and accessories. Full details of the Scalextric Sport track system, and numerous special-edition sets and new cars introduced since publication of the 5th edition. Covers every aspect of Scalextric models, from track sections and accessories to engines, guides, electric pick-ups and rare cars. Comprehensive lists of all sets, cars and other vehicles produced, inlcuding those manufactured in France and Spain. Details the early clockwork and tinplate models, now much sought-after by collectors. Outline history of the manufacturing company including the earlier Scalex and Startex models.
