Description

Poverty eradication is a long term goal of India. Since independence a number of poverty alleviation programmes including agricultural development programmes were launched. It would be incorrect to say that all the poverty alleviation programmes had shown the results much expected. In this way, the 'Samagra' project on Banana cultivation is a flagship project with multistakeholer partnerships in Kerala. It was launched in 2007 by the Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat and Kudumbashree Mission, with the aim of enhancing banana productivity through the promotion of innovations in technical backstopping. It is an attempt to explore the innovations in technical backstopping measured in terms of perception about the innovative procedures, processes and institutions of the 'Samagra' Project. The book will serve as a valuable reference book in agricultural extension professionals, agricultural policy makers, agricultural developmental agencies and research fellows.
