Author Biography:

Ian Thompson is a collector of local legends and part-time historian. He has been coming to Whitby for longer than he can remember, returning to his mother’s hometown year after year. He is the author of “Dracula’s Whitby” and co-author if two other books about Whitby history and folklore. He has also co-written three other local history books about Lancashire. In addition to writing, Ian’s hobbies include: infra-red photography, painting, and dressage. He is based in Southport. Burnley resident Roger Frost is a retired teacher and a Burnley Borough Councillor. Once the Mayor of the town he is now Chairman of the Burnley Civic Society, President of the Briercliffe Society and Vice President of the Burnley & District Historical Society. Roger writes the regular history column 'Peek into the Past' for the Burnley Express, he has written over 740 articles, and he also has a number of local history books to his name, many with his co-author Ian Thompson.
