Laura dabbled with fine art before studying philosophy and history of art at UCL. After various stints as a bookseller, being an extra and painting, her love of words led her to her first magazine job on women's fortnightly Real. She also worked at CosmoGIRL! for several years. After several years in London, last year Laura moved back to her home town in Hertfordshire, so that she could finally live in a proper grown-up house with a garden!
Vanessa St Clair was born in Gloucestershire and lives in London with her husband and baby son. Vanessa's middle name is Alice, after Alice Liddell, her great-grandmother and the real Alice in Wonderland.
