Description

A beautifully written book that takes the reader on an inspiring pilgrimage to visit the saints and realised masters of modern India. Devi Mukherhjee was a disciple of the great yogi Paramhansa Yogananda - known to millions as the author of AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI. As such, Devi is the ideal guide for this tour of India's spiritual richness, preserved in ashrams, mountain caves and sacred sites. The book includes many previously unpublished stories of Yogananda, relating to both his early life and his return to India. These new tales should make this book essential reading for anyone who is interested in Eastern spirituality. * Includes many previously unpublished stories of Yogananda

Author Biography:

At the age of seventeen, Devi Mukherjee worked in the Indian resistance movement with Gandhi. After being jailed for over five months and then receiving his college degree, Devi began a spiritual quest, and his travels took him across India. In Shaped by Saints, Devi invites you to join him on his pilgrimage to visit the saints and realized masters of modern-day India. The book also features many previously unpublished stories of Devi's time with Paramhansa Yogananda. From 1955 until 1966, Devi was part of Yogoda Satsanga Society, Self-Realization Fellowship¹s sister organization in India. It was during this period that Devi formed a life-long friendship with Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of Yogananda and founder of Ananda World Brotherhood Village in northern California.
