Description

Charlotte and Chopin are two young bunnies aspiring to be orchestra conductors. Their futures seem equally promising until Charlotte's shyness intrudes upon her goals. Can Charlotte learn to overcome her shyness with the help of her brother Chopin? Shy is full of art, musical instruments, and charmingly rendered animals from around the globe. It is an inspirational story of overcoming timidity through belief in one's self and supportive family. Shy also happens to be a good introduction to a broad range of animals from around the globe. Many of the animals are on the endangered species list. The last page is titled a credits page which gives an index of all the animals featured in the book's illustrations, so that curious young people can use their devices and search engines to learn more.

Author Biography:

E-V Banks is currently a student at Bronx High School of Science. She came up with the characters of Charlotte and Chopin and presented them to her mum, Simone, asking her if they could write a story together based on her ideas. E-V was nine years old at the time. The authors and illustrators divided the work in a collaborative fashion. E-V drew all characters and approved all background illustrations and painting. The story was written by both of them. Mother and daughter live their lives as a student and a digital marketing manager to their family owned and run business, Sim One, LLC.
