This Canadian band went platinum with their first two albums, so there's no doubt fans would expect a great album from them. Simple Plan returned with this self-titled album, and kicked things off with the single “When I'm Gone” – a typical break-up song. It is a decent song, but it's one of those that starts getting annoying after you hear it a few times. Other singles off the album include “Your love is a lie” and “Save You”. Some of the tracks are just annoying. Listening to the lyrics of this album feels like reading the diary of the songwriter, except you don't care and don't want to know about his “issues” in life. Pierre Bouvier's lead vocals sound sleepy, and there is nothing particularly interesting about the melodramatic power ballads.
I had high hopes for this album, but was left disappointed, as the CD now sets on the shelf collecting dust. I think this could be last album from this band.
