Author Biography
Scottish physician and author Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was knighted for his service as a field doctor during the Boer War. In addition to the landmarks in crime fiction that he created with his tales of Sherlock Holmes, Conan Doyle wrote many works of history and science fiction as well as plays and poetry.
