Six Shooter Classic Westerns Collection – Vol 1
100 Rifles
Deputy sheriff Lyedecker (Jim Brown) travels to a remote village looking for
Yaqui Joe (Burt Reynolds), a half-Indian, half-white bank robber who's stolen
$6,000 to buy rifles for the Yaqui Indians. His people are fighting the Mexican
government, which has set out to annihilate them, and Joe pleads for
Lydecker's help. But Lyedecker is determined that the money be returned to its
rightful place – a Phoenix bank – and he'll stop at nothing to make sure
that happens.
Chino
Chino (Charles Bronson) is a horse breeder on the American Southwest frontier.
He considers himself a loner, so when young runaway Jimmy (Vincent Van Patten)
rides to his isolated home and asks for work, Chino is reluctant at first. But
he lets Jimmy stay on, and over the next few weeks their relationship grows.
However, every time Chino visits the nearest town, he finds himself in a fight
with racist townsfolk.
Lonely Are The Brave
Jack Burns (Kirk Douglas) contrives to get himself tossed into the same jail as
old friend Paul Bondi (Michael Kane) from where he plans to bust out with his
buddy. Bondi opts to stay, however – his ways have changed, and there is the
wife (Gena Rowlands) and a son to consider – but Burns breaks out to be
chased down by determined Sheriff Johnson (Walter Matthau).
Man Without A Star
Dempsey Rae (Kirk Douglas) arrives at the Reed Bowmans (Jeanne Crain) ranch,
fresh from riding the rails. Along with sidekick Jeff Jimson (William Campbell),
he signs on for work and begin work on a fence, but the truth dawns on Rae that
theyve been hired to fence off land that smaller ranchers need to graze
their herds.
