Our kids love the “sleeping queens” game. It's fairly simple to learn and play. The length of a game has ranged between 5–40 minutes with most games lasting 15–20 mins. We have played with 3,4 and 5 players comprised of different aged players (7,9,12,14,35,36 and 59 years old).
While luck is a major factor in the game, basic strategies can be used to improve chances making the game a little bit more interesting for older players (compared to snakes and ladder, shudder). I believe this game best suited for kids (6+) but enjoyable enough for adults to play with the kids.
TIP: The game can be made a little simpler for the youngest players by removing the addition rule for card matching or alternatively replacing it with sequencing (e.g. 6,7,8). Reading ability is not required to play this game (apart from reading/learning the rules).
