Description

Slipstream is a poignant memoir that follows the Cole family's journey as "Ten Pound Poms" in Australia. Catherine, their first Australian-born child, navigates the contrasting worlds of her parents' small mining village in northern England and a childhood of hot Australian summers, beaches and cicadas. Through personal stories, cultural observations and historical insights, Slipstream offers an exploration of the sacrifices made by migrants to build a better future for their children in a new land.
