Fast F2.8 APS-C standard zoom
Sony's first 16–55 mm (equivalent to 24–82.5 mm full-frame) APS-C zoom lens has a constant aperture of F2.8, is compact and lightweight, and offers excellent performance comparable to the G lens series. The new optical design enables high resolution in every corner of the work, and it can capture moving bokeh effects at any time. The lens is lightweight and portable, suitable for shooting various subjects.
Two AA (advanced aspherical) and two aspherical elements can suppress aberrations, allowing excellent G lens resolution in every corner; and three ED (ultra-low dispersion) lens elements can greatly reduce bleeding problems . In the entire zoom range of any focusing distance, you can capture clear details and natural colors.
Spherical aberration can play an important role in the quality of bokeh. After precise control, it can also make soft and beautiful bokeh out of the focus range. The 9-piece circular aperture design also helps this lens to present a beautiful bokeh effect. The sharp focus details are in sharp contrast with the pleasing background bokeh, bringing a deep and excellent image.
