One of the most enduring, feel-good musicals ever made, with sing-along songs made for the entire family. Julie Andrews takes her sweet nanny from “Mary Poppins” and transforms her into more of a human being as a nun who falls in love with a man who has a houseful of children. They don't like her at first, but they grow to love her, and you grow to love them all. Supporting casts, like the Mother Abbess, played by Peggy Wood, and Richard Hadyn's Max are what fills in the storyline and makes it even better. The children are great in their roles, although they meld together, especially during the musical numbers. Even with the backdrop of the Nazis at their doorstep, the family keeps things looking positive, and rosy, and you can't help but join in yodeling.
