Description

Summer at her ninety-three year old Great-Grandma's house is not part of thirteen-year old Kylie's plan. Yet she finds herself traveling to Fairview with her Mom as her friends text from exotic locations. They enter a dark forest and Fairview appears like a magical town hidden by time. Soon Mom and Ma are busy cooking meals and quilting. It looks like another easy summer at Ma's. Kylie drifts to sleep at night in a soft featherbed as a delicate light dances beneath the attic door. Soon an unsettled spirit draws Kylie into a web of mystery crossing multiple generations. Cryptic text messages appear on Kylie's phone. Ma's attic beckons to Kylie as she strives to discover the specter's past. She connects with her Fairview friends, Luke and Brianna. Kylie is surprised how tall Luke is, with sun-glinted hair. Brianna is also more grown up, with brown wavy hair and a textured belt with shorts. Kylie meets her sweet autistic cousin Annie. Annie's careful attention to detail soon drives the friends deep into the mystery of the troubled spirit.
