He has authored several books associated with the pure and applied aspects of the subject of psychology, including the essentials of educational psychology, advanced educational psychology, and emotional intelligence: Emotional Intelligence: Managing Emotions to Win in Life, Research Methodology in Behavioural Sciences, Statistics in Psychology and Education, Psychology for Nursing, Psychology for Physiotherapy, Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology, General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of Learning and Development and Child Psychology and Development. Mangal is a distinguished administrator and researcher and has devised various educational and psychological tests and published in reputed journals. His areas of interest are emotional intelligence and teacher adjustment. Shubhra Mangal, PhD (Education), was the principal, professor, and the head of the Department of Post Graduate Studies, C. R. S. College of Education, Noida, and devised an emotional intelligence inventory for the measurement of emotional intelligence of school teachers.
