MELANIE ILIC is Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Gloucestershire UK, and Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Russian and East European Studies, University of Birmingham UK. She is author of Women Workers in the Soviet Interwar Economy (Palgrave Macmillan, 1999), editor of Women in the Stalin Era (Palgrave Macmillan, 2001), and co-editor (with S. E. Reid and L. Atwood) of Women in the Khrushchev Era (Palgrave Macmillan, 2004).
