S.G. Butler, an investigative television reporter of Emmy Award fame, is surprisingly fired from her job without cause. She visits her sister and brother-in-law down at Hollywood Riviera Beach, where they have a beach burger concession next door to the main lifeguard station. S.G. meets and clashes with Zeke, a senior lifeguard, who gave up his job using his doctorate in marine biology, when his wife and daughter were killed in a hit and run accident that he never believed was an accident. Attempts on S.G.'s life continue to happen, with her new protector - Zeke - always there helping her to solve the mysteries of her life not knowing that some of what is going on to challenge both of them, is based on his work trying to stop the poaching of Orcas and dolphins continually happening off the coast of Hollywood Riviera beach as well as Antarctica. The kidnapped animals are sold to the highest bidders for theme parks in Asia and also Caribbean countries. There is romance spiced with not one but several mysteries solved in this engaging novel.
