"A solid debut by Leonard Nimoy"
4 stars"

This 3rd film in the Star Trek series and the 2nd instalment of the Spock death-resurrection trilogy is perhaps not as action packed and as finely tuned as the Wrath of the Khan, but nevertheless it has an engrossing theme and the same easy comraderie within the Star Trek crew as was in the TV series.

Perhaps the loss of Spock and his eyebrow disturbed the overall chemistry somewhat, but as the purpose of the whole film was to locate and finally restore the character, Spock's presence was ever felt throughout the film. Christopher Lloyd was an adequate villain, but rather bland and colourless compared to Ricardo Montalban in Khan. Robin Curtis was incredibly boring as Lt Saavik, she simply didn't have Kirsty Alley's glowing presence.

Leonard Nimoy did a credible job as director, his understanding of Star Trek and its characters were obvious in the loving ways the camera portrayed all of the Enterprise crew.

Overall the Search for Spock was an interesting ride for the audience and a satisfying journey for all Star Trek fans. Live long and Prosper!
