Author Biography:

Steve Liskow is a former English teacher, actor, director, producer, designer and musician. During his sophomore year of college, he saw the Muddy Waters Blues Band open for Martha & The Vandellas and switched allegiance from the Beatles and Monkees to blues on the spot. He bought his first guitar only months later. He played in a short-lived band, but broke his wrist playing football. The injury hampered his playing and he became a disc jockey on the campus radio station, but his love of rock and blues still shows up in his titles, most of which are either songs or allusions to songs. After taking early retirement from teaching, he returned to writing and has published eleven novels and the short stories in this collection. His short stories have earned an Edgar nomination, two Black Orchid Novella Awards (he is the only multiple winner to date), and three Honorable Mentions for the Al Blanchard Story Award. His novels have earned Honorable Mention in the Writer's Digest Self-Published Novel Awards (Blood On the Tracks), quarter-finalist recognition in the Amazon Breakthough Novel Award (The Whammer Jammers), and a Shamus Award nomination from the Private Eye Writers of America (The Kids Are All Right). He lives near Hartford, Connecticut with his wife Barbara and two rescued cats. He conducts fiction workshops throughout the state and still occasionally plays guitar at open mic venues.
