From playing shows at age 14, to writing and recording their own music, to becoming active in the Richmond, Virginia punk and activist scenes, this book tells a tale of kids trying to make a positive impact on the world, while being challenged at every step. Then when a tragic death occurs, trying to honour their friend's life. This book takes the reader through a story of pursuing your dreams, fighting for what you believe in, and ultimately, trying to process the life and death of a kid's best friend.

Author Biography:

Gary Llama got his start making music in the early 90s in Richmond, Virginia, playing in 500$Fine. His latest book, 'Struggle Against', tells his story of his early teens, playing music with 500$Fine and dealing with the loss of bassist, and friend, Patrick Daly.
