Sustainable Development, Global Trade and Social Rights is aimed at analyzing the most updated aspects of linkage between global trade and social rights. There are two different but converging underlying reasons that forge a linkage between promoting social rights and market regulation: one that seeks to act against distorted competition based on social dumping, which ultimately modifies the best allocation of resources on a global scale; the other refers to the planning of an axiologically oriented global order, designed to redress the unwelcomed social consequences of globalization. Three major fields of international law – trade, the environment and human rights – have become inextricably intertwined in today’s world. Author Biography:
Adalberto Perulli is Full Professor of Labour Law at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and Visiting Professor at the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La D�fense since 2000. He is the Director of Master in Labour Law at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He did research and studies for the European Commission and for the International Labour Organization (ILO) of Geneva. Prof. Perulli has been rapporteur to the XVIII ISLSSL World Congress of Labour and Security Law on "Labour Law and productive decentralization" in Paris, on 2006; He is Master EMA Director at EIUC (European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation) and also member of the scientific and editorial staff of several Italian and foreign labour law reviews. Tiziano Treu is Professor Emeritus of Labour Law, Catholic University of Milan, Law School, and President of ISLSSL - International Society of Labour and Social Security Law. Previously he has been President of the Italian Association of Labour Law and Social Security. During his political experience Prof. Treu has been Minister of Transportation and Minister of Labour and Social Security in the Italian Government, and more recently President of the XI Commission (Labour and Wefare) of the Italian Senate.
