Description

Sustainability, by no means a passing trend, is the necessary direction that architecture will have to take in the near future. Driven by necessity, as well as by a progressive and daring spirit, many architects are branching out into new, uncharted directions, designing efficient, autonomous energy systems or taking advantage of the properties in high-tech materials such as steel and glass for conserving energy. The present volume offers a careful selection of new projects by emerging architects which provide an interesting panorama of languages and techniques applied to the rich and dynamic field of sustainable architecture. All explanatory texts, floor plans and construction details have been contributed by the architects themselves, making this an invaluable and up-to-date resource on the current state of sustainable design. 280 colour photographs
