You can only really play time stories and each expansion through once. However I have never had an experiance from a game burn itself into my brain the way time stories did. Several times during my groups playthroughs of the base game and the Marcy case the whole group said “wtf-” The rush when you figure out a puzzle. The art work. The story inside. All of these things make me recommend this game to people. If you like story, puzzles, and cooperative games time stories is for you.
Knowing you can only play through each adventure once, you must wonder if this is worth buying. I played it with 3 and found it to absolutely be worth it – the sheer enjoyment of navigating through the story and revealling new information was a great experience, one of the very best I've found in a board game. Top it off with beautiful art, great box inlay (which allows you to stop mid-game), solid components and a clear manual and it's a winner. Very much looking forward to The Marcy Case.

T.I.M.E Stories is a narrative game, a game of “decksploration”. Each player is free to give their character as deep a “role” as they want, in order to live through a story, as much in the game as around the table. But it's also a board game with rules which allow for reflection and optimization.
