The multi-purpose Mercedes-Benz Unimog is a truck with unrivalled off-road performance and its name is an acronym which stands for the German description “UNIversal-Motor Gerat.” It can look back over a history of more than half a century since its creation after WWII, and this R/C model kit recreates the 1963 release 406 Series model. The accurate polycarbonate body features the rounded bonnet and circular headlights, and is accented by metal plated parts to depict the side mirrors and front grille.
The 2WD Chassis at home with wheels in the air or on the ground – The Unimog seen here is mated to the Tamiya CW-01 Wheelie chassis for fun wheelie driving action on road and off-road surfaces. Pull the throttle trigger hard and watch the Unimog enter into a big wheelie! As it does so, the wheelie bar on the back of the rear wheel 2WD chassis supports the vehicle to ensure that it does not flip over completely. The tough ABS plastic CW-01 chassis is made for traversing rough terrain with ease: its suspension features a front independent swing axle and rear rolling rigid setup with coil springs, while the massive 115mm metal-plated wheels are fitted with large tires. The chassis marries toughness with excellent cornering thanks to the in-built differential gear. Finally, with a sealed gearbox to keep out any debris that might enter the model, reliability comes as standard too!
