It's a cool wee kit to go in with your modelling supplies but it does have its limitations:
It's effectively make-up for models. Applied tactfully, it can look very
effective without much fuss. Keep in mind though that it is a powder and so will
wear off easily when handled.
As such, it will be of less use for war-gaming models that may be picked up a
lot; fingers touching the pigment will rub it off or smudge it easily. AÂ spray
varnish may do the trick in sealing it on, though.
The wee, double-ended applicator tool that comes with it it just about useless. The sponge end is good at first but suffers from the same durability problem as its larger, separately-sold counter-part from this range (and will fall apart quickly with normal use). It also stays ‘dirty’ with one colour when you want to change to another, so you will likely end up contaminating the other colours and/or not get the desired pigment colour when switching.
The brush end of the tool is just not stiff enough the get pigment onto it and so is pretty ineffective.
If this kit is bounced around in a tool-box or school-bag, etc, the pigment will likely fragment into chunks and become messy and hard to use. Just treat it carefully.
