Description

This is not a typical metal detecting book. This book delves into the reality of someone with a face, name, and real tears who lost a very precious and sentimental engagement or wedding ring. It's one member of "The Ring Finders" true and factual journeys trying to find, recover, and return lost treasures to their rightful owners. Irrelevant of any cost, every ring has a story attached. The story could have started when a young man slipped a beautiful engagement ring on the love of his life's finger. Maybe the story started the day before when a couple exchanged wedding vows and rings, or generations ago when a ring was passed down from family member to family member. When a ring is lost, that part of the story stops. The ring can always be replaced, after all, it's only a materialistic piece of metal. However, the love, sentiment, and memories attached to that special ring can never be replaced and is lost forever.

Author Biography:

Jim has spent his entire adult life trying to help people in need. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard right out of high school in January 1972 and retired as a CMCPO with over 30 years of service in August 2002. Prior to his official retirement date from the Coast Guard, he was hired 10 months after 9/11 by an agency within the Department of Homeland Security in Hartford, CT. In 2004 Jim transferred to Myrtle Beach, S.C. where he worked for another 10 years and retired a second time in 2014. Just a few months after his second retirement he took up metal detecting as a hobby. Now he's heavily involved in helping people in and around North Myrtle Beach SC find their lost, precious, and sentimental rings on the beach and in the ocean. In early 2015, Jim became a member of "The Ring Finders", a global metal detecting service dedicated to finding and returning lost items to their owners. In 2017, Jim was interviewed and featured twice on the local news in regards to ring returns. He also had one of his ring find stories published in the Huffington Post.
