I've been using this case for 3–4 weeks now so I'm pretty well familiar with it.
Snug fit, given the build feel and how well insulated the phone is inside the case, it really does seem like it'll protect the phone if it drops – though I haven't dropped it (yet (thankfully)). It adds quite a bit of bulk to the phone which may not be desirable for some people – especially considering the Note 9 is already a very big phone – but it's not a huge deal for me. The big reason I go for wallet cases, is to save also carrying a wallet, so I'm saving on bulk overall.
It also still fits in my pockets fine, but this might be a problem if you wear snug fitting clothes. The buttons are responsive through the case, and the s-pen is pretty easy to get out. It works ok as a stand, not super stable, but good in a pinch and if you don't need to adjust it a lot.
I also installed the Whitestone Dome glass for the Note 9, and can confirm that this case fits really well with this protector, without compromising the edges of it.
A couple of things I didn't like – there are only 2 card slots (one in the front flap, one in a floating/middle flap, which also acts as a soft screen cover), so it's really just enough for a credit/eftpos card, and your drivers license. I came from using a Spigen wallet case with my previous phone (an S7 Edge) which had 3 slots (each slot would take a couple of cards) and a pocket for notes, so I would've loved something similar here. If you try to add more than one card to a slot in this case, it bulks the case up enough that the magnetic latch doesn't quite reach properly to close the front flap, so the cover is prone to flip open unexpectedly (which you wouldn't want if you dropped it). It really is only good for a couple of cards. Would've been cool if maybe the latch was bigger/more forgiving, so you could squeeze another card or two into the slots.
The fingerprint sensor is also a little bit of a pain to use with this case, but that's probably just as much of an issue with front cover cases in general, and also the positioning of the scanner on the Note 9. Not only is there a little bit of depth from the top of the case to the fingerprint sensor (meaning you have to stretch a little further), but when you open the case to use it, often the flap gets in the way of using the scanner – particularly if you're trying to use it with just your left hand, or if you pin the flap to the back of the phone to use it like I do. Like I say – this is just as much of an issue with the front flap style of case and the scanner placement on the phone, as it is with this particular product. A way around this might be to scan as you pick the phone up (before opening the flap), but I find myself using the iris/face scanner more often than the fingerprint just because it seems easier, and I habitually flip the case open when I pick it up.
All in all, I'm happy with the case and would recommend it. The niggles are outweighed by the drop protection it offers, which, for such an expensive phone, I'm pretty keen on having.
