Description

See the future through the vision of the Wireless World Research Forum...One of the main drivers for the WWRF vision is the introduction of new services and the transformation of current network usage models. Crucial to this vision is the Development of I-centric services, adjustable to a vast range of user profiles and needs along with seamless connectivity anywhere-anytime. Opening with a discussion of users' expectations and requirements of the wireless world in 2010-2015, the authors then build on these foundations to consider the current industry standards and focus in on potential obstacles to reaching these expectations. Areas under consideration include: * User interface * Personalisation * Service architectures * Network protocols * Air-interface solutions * Network and system topologies These areas are then prioritised to give a highly focussed roadmap for research and development over the next decade. Drawing upon the breadth of experience that the WWRF offer, all sectors of the industry from manufacturers, operators and R&D institutes will benefit greatly from this innovative title.
